“Gran Hotel del Globo”
At the corner of Rambla 25 de Agosto and Colón, facing the exit of the Port of Montevideo, stands the “Gran Hotel del Globo”, built in the late 19th century and an almost obligatory stop for immigrants arriving in our land in search of a new life. The premise of our proposal has always been to remain respectful of the building’s morphology, spatiality, and façades.
The new program is a mixed-use concept: gastronomy, offices, events, cultural activities, and hotel.
- Ground floor: Restaurant, coworking areas, and services.
- 1st and 2nd floors: Coworking rooms with meeting areas and services.
- 3rd floor: Hotel rooms with services.
- 4th floor: Conference room, café with outdoor space provided by the terrace.
Associated with the firm Berthet Mendez Taranto for the refurbishment of the historic “Gran Hotel del Globo”.
